What this comparison does not tell you
- support.wyzant.com refuses automated requests, so these figures were read from the Internet Archive's capture of Wyzant's own support page, dated 20 June 2026, rather than from the live page. The wording is theirs; the date is the capture, not today.
- Wyzant is a much larger, established, largely US marketplace with real student demand. TutorBoost is early and its directory is not yet open. A better rate on a lesson you do not get is worth nothing.
- The referral exception means Wyzant can be the cheaper platform for a tutor who supplies their own students. That is a real advantage and we do not match it.

Is TutorBoost cheaper than Wyzant?
On an ordinary lesson, yes: 10% against 25%, both flat. On a student you referred yourself, no - Wyzant takes nothing on those and we take 10%. On a trial lesson we charge 50%, and we could not verify a comparable published Wyzant trial rate, so that line is not a comparison.
What does the student pay?
On Wyzant, a 9% service fee on top of the lesson price. On TutorBoost, a flat $0.99 per booking rather than a percentage, which is cheaper on an expensive lesson and more expensive on a very cheap one.
