What TutorBoost costs
Every fee, including the ones a student pays and the one it costs to take your money out. If a charge is not on this page, it does not exist.
What it costs you
The money does not only leave through the commission.
The things that quietly take a cut of a teaching week, and what each one does here instead.
The rate is worst when you are smallest
Nothing about your rate depends on how busy you were. There is no tier to climb and no volume to unlock, so a quiet month costs you nothing beyond the month itself.
A finder's fee for students you found yourself
Bring one student of your own or every one of them; the rate is the same. The only finding fee is a single trial with a student we introduced to you, and it is shown before you publish one.
Discovering after you teach that you cannot be paid
Your payout route is confirmed before your calendar can accept a paid booking. Stripe pays eligible accounts to their bank; anything else is reviewed with you first.
The first lesson is free, for everyone except you
You decide whether to offer a trial and what it costs. Where we introduced the student it is split 50/50, so you keep 50% of a 25- or 50-minute lesson rather than none of it, capped at one per student.

Free costs nothing and has no listing fee. Everything works on it — your booking page, payments, the classroom, attendance and payouts. Pro halves the fee on every lesson and pays for itself once you are earning about $190.00 a month here; below that, Free costs you less.
Paid by tutor - Lesson fee20% free, 10% on Pro
Taken from each lesson, so you keep 80% on Free and 90% on Pro. Neither rate rises with your hours or falls with them, and the rate that applies is fixed when a lesson is booked — subscribing or cancelling later never changes a lesson you have already taken.
Paid by tutor - Trial lessonsYour usual rate, or 50% if we introduced the student
A trial with a student you brought is charged at your own plan's rate, like any other lesson. Where TutorBoost introduced the student, one trial with them is split 50/50 — that is the only finding fee we charge, and only once. Offering a trial is your choice and it is capped at one per student.

Added to the student’s card at checkout, shown as its own line. It covers card processing and the lesson room. It does not come out of the tutor’s share, and a lesson paid from credit or a pack does not carry one.
Paid by student - WithdrawalFree over $50.00, otherwise $2.00
Every transfer costs the same to send whatever its size, so withdrawing $50.00 at a time costs nothing. Never charged when a payout bounces and comes back.
Paid by tutor - Currency conversion1.5%
Only when you are paid in your own currency rather than US dollars. Paid in dollars, there is nothing to convert and nothing to charge.

There is no listing fee, and the free plan has no monthly charge. The lesson rate is 20% on Free and 10% on Pro. Every platform charge and who pays it is listed above; no other TutorBoost fee is added silently.
The cut
The difference is not a feature. It is the arithmetic.
The big marketplaces start at 33% and work down to 18%, but only after roughly 400 hours taught. On Pro you pay 10% from your first lesson and it never moves. Put your own numbers in.

That is the same lessons, at the same rate, to the same students. The only thing that changed is who kept the money. Pro is $19.00 a month; the free plan is 20% with nothing up front.
A person reads every application, so this is not an automatic yes.
Assumes 48 teaching weeks a year (720 hours), a constant rate, and that every lesson is taught. Their share is calculated hour by hour as the rate decays, not at the opening rate, which makes the gap smaller than a headline comparison would. Neither figure deducts payment-processing fees or your local taxes.

Is there a subscription?
There is no listing fee or charge for a profile, and no subscription unless you want one. The free plan takes 20% of a lesson; Pro is $19.00 a month and takes 10%. An optional trial with a student we introduced uses a 50/50 split, shown before you publish it, and any payout-provider fee is shown before you request a payout.
Should I pay for Pro?
Only if it saves you money, and we would rather say so than sell you something. Pro costs $19.00 a month and halves the lesson fee, so it pays for itself once you are earning about $190.00 a month here. Below that the free plan is cheaper for you, and it is not a lesser version of the product: everything works on it.
Teach the same lessons. Lose less of them.
Free to start, 10% flat on Pro. No tiers to climb, no volume to earn, no rate that changes once you have built something worth taking a cut of.
