How tutors are ordered
Who is listed
Only tutors whose profiles a TutorBoost reviewer has approved, and whose profiles are complete (a real name, subject, bio, photo or rate, and an intro video). Your filters decide which of them you see. Paying does not get a tutor listed.
The default order
“Recommended” puts tutors with more reviews from completed lessons first, then higher ratings, then the most recently updated profiles. It is not random, so the list is the same when you reload it. You can sort by price, rating or experience instead.
Paid placements
A tutor can pay to appear first in their own subject. Those tutors are marked “Featured · paid placement” on their card. At most 2 appear at the top of a list, only among tutors who already match your filters, and only in the default order: when you sort by price, rating or experience, nobody is moved up. A placement does not change reviews, ratings or anything on the tutor’s profile.
Badges
“Credentials reviewed” means a TutorBoost reviewer has checked a qualification document or CV the tutor uploaded. It is not a background check. Ratings come only from students who completed a lesson.
